How to stitch a word

1

Count your word

Most capitals are 7 stitches wide, small letters 6 (m and w are 9). Add 2 stitches between letters.

2

Keep one baseline

Capitals and tall letters are 9 stitches high, small letters 6. Tails of g, j, p, q and y go 3 rows below the line.

3

Stitch, then shadow

Work the letters first, then the light shadow one stitch down and right. Leave 3 rows between lines.
